I used to be a high school English teacher at the public high school in Hokkaido. I retired from an English teacher 6 years ago and I got a license of the national government licensed guide interpreter. I live in a small city named Abashiri, which is located in the eastern part of Hokkaido island, Japan and very rich in nature. Abashiri is surrounded by natural beauty such as lakes, rivers and mountains. I like to go hiking in the mountains near our city all year round. In spring, we can see beautiful peaks crwoned with remaining snow, in summer there are a lot of alpine flowers, in autumn we can see gorgeous autumn colors and in winter we can enjoy snowshoeing in the small mountains on sunny days and seeing beautiful Okhotsk Sea covered with drift ice. I would like you to enjoy walking in the forests while hearing birds singing. I hope you will have a chace to enjoy some of them. I can help you spend wonderful time here. Abashiri offers you not only natural beauty but also some interesting museums which specialize in northern minorities such as Ainu, Inuit and Eskimo. Also, there is a drift ice museum where you can touch some drift ice in the very cold room (-15 degrees Celsius) even in summer. You will have a great time visiting those small museums.

Japan

¡Hola! ¡Vamos a pasear juntos a conocer otro mundo!

Visiting Kyoto

My family visited from Hawaii and was able to communicate easily with Hiroko, speaking “pidgin” English. Hiroko took us to all the sights we wanted to see, never rushing us and stayed with us long past the scheduled end time. We are looking forward to another tour we scheduled with her in Osaka. We highly recommend you to book a tour with her.

Wonderful experience

Kazu was very well prepared and flexible. We had wonderful tour and history lesson. He even helped us to book tickets to the airport. We strongly recommend him to anyone who’s looking for a guide in Kyoto. A+++++++++

Thank you for your wonderful review. Even though it was fall, I think you must have been tired from walking around in the hot weather. I'm sorry about that. Did you go to Arashiyama today? There are many other temples, shrines in Kyoto that are not so crowded, so I hope you will be able to visit a variety of places as long as you have time. And I hope this tour will be a very memorable trip in Japan. Thank you!!

Tokyo tour

Went on a tour of Tokyo with our lovely guide Chiaki. Chiaki was an absolute delight! *prompt - Chiaki arrived at our hotel ahead of meeting time *courteous - so kind, so polite *helpful - willing to arrange our day to best suit our compressed timeline, find the perfect lunch spot, and plan our return to our hotel later without her via subway by providing a map and a post -it note with detailed train and transfer information *knowledgeable - whether questions about the city, the trains, or historical/cultural questions, Chiaki cheerfully shared her knowledge

Hi Rick, thank you so much for your wonderful words! You must be writing this review in the Shinkansen. It was a hot and humid day today so you must be tired. Thank you for your taking time to post it. I spent a lovely day with you and your beautiful family. I hope you enjoy your days in Kyoto and safely go back home. Please visit Japan again with your son and stay longer. Send my best wishes to Barbara and Victoria! Thank you again!
