Join me on a culinary adventure in Tel Aviv’s historic neighbourhood of the Yemenite Quarter.
We will visit theCarmel Market and learn about it's history and evolution. You will be introduced to shop owners and their heritage and taste traditional dishes. You will be shown the unique ingredients that make up the diverse cuisine found in Israel. The adventure will continue in my kitchen with a workshop on signature dishes found in Israel using ingredients from the market.

Meet and greet
Introduction to Israeli cuisine, history of the market and tour line up.
First tasting - Herbal juice infusions from a Yemenite store.
A crash course in eating hummus in the Yemenite quarter neighbourhood which is connected to the market. We will learn about the different ways to order hummus, identify what the side dishes are and learn the best way to eat it.
We will visit a Turkish family owned spices shops and learn about the essential ingrediates that make up the local flavour. we will sample one of the best zaatar herb mix in the market.
We will explore the market and retrieve final ingredients for the cooking workshop.
We will make our way to the kitchen and have a little cocktail break before starting the cooking workshop.
We will learn cooking techniques and prepare dishes that are from the Sephardic tradition.
Baba Ganoush - smoked eggplant
Almond and lemon dip with zaatar
Green tahini - sesame dip with herbs
2 types of salad
Mejadara- rice and lentil dish with loads of caramelized onions and mild spices
Mahshe- stuffed vegetables in a rich tomatoe sauce
Plant based kebabs on cinnamon sticks
Malabi- ottoman dessert scented with rose
We will enjoy a delicious lunch, talk about Israeli culture and sample local wine.
