I will pick you up at your hotel (anywhere in Israel) and we will drive south to the Negev Desert, where we will visit Ben Gurion's home, tour the ancient city of Avdat, and explore the Ramon Crater in an exciting off-road experience. Throughout the day we will be travelling through the unique landscape of this high desert. Return to your hotel in the evening.
Starting time is flexible
Tour of the desert home of David Ben Gurion, Israel's first prime minister and the "father of his country", in which we will learn his personal story that reflects the modern history of Israel and the importance of the Negev. Optional: short tour of the kibbutz
Drive to and visit Ben Gurion's gravesite that has a fantastic view of the Zin Valley.
We will tour the ruins of the ancient city of Avdat, a caravan stop for the Nabateans on the ancient Spice Road and later a thriving Byzantine desert town.
Lunch
Drive to the town of Mitzpe Ramon where we will stop for a breathtaking overlook above the Ramon Crater.
We will descend into the crater, a unique geological phenomenon with unparallaled beauty. We will stop at a few of the well known sites and then embark on an exciting off road experience in my comfortable 4 x 4 Landcruiser. This will enable us to see some of the most amazing and colorful parts of the crater.

I can guide small groups, up to 6, with my comfortable Toyota Land Cruiser, anywhere in Israel. I have a specialization in Christianity and I am very familiar with the Negev Desert. I can also accompany you to Petra in Jordan. If your group is larger than 6 I can arrange transportation for that size of the group.
This tour can be modified in any way you want - you may ask to visit alternative sites in the Negev or turn it into a multi-day tour for a comprehensive tour. You may also book this tour and instead of returning to your hotel I can bring you to Eilat (for this there is a surcharge of $142).
Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. If it's during the winter it can be cold.
Price does not include entrance fees to attractions/sites, guide's lunch.
